How to made best Mask at home
Here's an example process for how to sew an effective face mask....
What you'll need
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Cotton fabric
- Needle
- Thread
- 2 elastic strings (can be hair bands or headbands in a pinch) each approximately 6 inches in length
Steps
1. Start with two rectangles of cotton fabric — preferably from quilting fabric or cotton sheets, but t-shirt fabric will do if you have nothing else. The two sheets should measure 10 inches in length and 6 inches wide.
2. Stack the two rectangles on top of each other.
3. Stitch the two sheets together by sewing around the perimeter on all four sides.
4. Take one of the long sides and fold it over ¼ of an inch and stitch along that side of the mask. Repeat step for the other long end of the mask.
5. Take both of the short sides and fold over ½ of an inch and stitch along each end. Repeat step for the other short end of the mask.
6. Run each of your two elastic strings through the opening at each short end of the mask.
7. Tie each string at the ends so they're nice and tight
8. Hide the knotted ends in the hem of the mask.
9. Stitch the strings in place so they don't slip.
